Bitter But True
Bitter but True
Death showed its ugly face when I was just a child.
Made me understand that life was just a sweet lie.
It showed me its power and I shrieked.
It howled in my ears day and night.
It took me on a long journey, one I could never forget.
All the pride and conceit in humanity, I saw.
The way life cuckolded the whole of it.
Swindled, Humanity was.
I saw the hatred, envy and lies that life had within.
Death managed to humble me.
I saw that which everyone didn’t.
I made it a goal for me to know why death was hated so much.
If truly, life was full of deceit and betrayal.
I saw then that life was the satisfying lie.
And death was the unpleasant truth.
Life was sweet but deceitful.
Death was bitter but genuine.
Death came at its own time and didn’t swindle like life did.
Two opposite sides, yet so confusing.
I saw, I cried, I wept yet I still believed.
